Everything happen the same to me. i can connect through the wi-fi network but i cannot get the bb link to connect to my z10 via a usb cable. my laptop os: windows 8 pro 64 bit. I found a blackberry knowledge base article id 000035666 - how to troubleshoot usb connectivity issues between blackberry link and a blackberry device that helped. the device type was not correct for the bb driver. i had the link behaviour where the bb is both connected and not connected. driver update was successful, i got a 2016 version..
